expand/collapse State of Emergency
The US in the Final Six Months of the George W. Bush Administration
by Lewis Seiler and Dan Hamburg
With just a half year left in what many believe has been the worst presidency in American history the possibilities are many, and some of them are truly frightening. As citizens of this country, we must do everything in our power to ensure that there is no expansion of war in the Middle East, no “false flag” attack at the Port of Houston or anywhere else, and a peaceful and constitutional succession to a new administration.

expand/collapse A Marriage Form Will Just Be Icing On Our Cake
by Sara Sarasohn
There's a joke about what we'll do next month that I've heard too many times already. It's not very funny because the subtext isn't funny. It goes like this: What's the difference between gay marriage and straight marriage? With gay marriage, you have to get married over and over again to the same person. There are a lot of couples who are in the same position that Ellen and I find ourselves in. We had a religious ceremony and a domestic partnership. We got married in 2004, when San Francisco's City Hall was open to us for just a few weeks. We're a little tired of getting married. We want this time, at the office of the Alameda County clerk, to be the last.

expand/collapse Nevada’s Gay Duh
Leaving millions on the table in the name of — ready for it? — morality by Steve Friess

When Californians start allowing same-sex couples to legally marry as a result of a recent state Supreme Court ruling, the Golden State will reap a massive financial bonanza that should go a long way through the summer toward softening the harshest impacts of an ongoing recession and record fuel prices.

Over the border in Nevada, the folks running those little gambling joints along Las Vegas Boulevard will meanwhile be crying in their red-state beers. Because of the utter hypocrisy, stupidity and basic mean-spiritedness of the Silver State’s electorate, Las Vegas will miss out on untold millions of dollars in tourism spending that could’ve been for being on the forefront of the coming gay-marriage tsunami.

The world's one true religion!

Today's Quote:

"Man is subject to innumerable pains and sorrows by the very condition of humanity, and yet, as if nature had not sown evils enough in life, we are continually adding grief to grief and aggravating the common calamity by our cruel treatment of one another."
- Joseph Addison
Editor's Notes & Rants:

Antichristian Cryptkeeper from Hell to protest gay marriages at San Francisco City Hall.

Until further notice, I will be supporting the boycott on the Associated Press (AP), and will not link to any AP stories if there is any other source presenting similar information. Sic semper tyrannis.

Ignored by the press: In March, the Oklahoma House of Representatives voted 92-3 to declare Soveriegnty under the 10th amendment to the US Constitution, meaning all federal laws and mandates not specifically enumerated in the US constitution are null and void in the state of Oklahoma.

John McCain's drug addict wife.

Iraqi PM says US may be asked to leave by end of year. Which means McCain would have to declare war on them to stay?

Why Donald Rumsfeld must be captured and sent to the Hague to be tried for Crimes Against Humanity.

Hear ye, hear ye! Michael Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan, is a fascist and a terrorist!

Hitler Youth beat innocent elderly Semites in Palestine. NEVER FORGET who the real terrorists are!

Democrats preparing to gut the Constitution to protect the telecoms from prosecution for their collusion with Cheney to illegally spy on Americans. The Democratic Party has become just another mask for the same NeoFascist bullshit Americans are sick of.
