As citizens of this country, we must do everything in our power to ensure that there is no expansion of war in the Middle East, no “false flag” attack at the Port of Houston or anywhere else, and a peaceful and constitutional succession to a new administration.
A Marriage Form Will Just Be Icing On Our Cake
by Sara SarasohnThere's a joke about what we'll do next month that I've heard too many times already. It's not very funny because the subtext isn't funny. It goes like this: What's the difference between gay marriage and straight marriage? With gay marriage, you have to get married over and over again to the same person. There are a lot of couples who are in the same position that Ellen and I find ourselves in. We had a religious ceremony and a domestic partnership. We got married in 2004, when San Francisco's City Hall was open to us for just a few weeks. We're a little tired of getting married. We want this time, at the office of the Alameda County clerk, to be the last.
