expand/collapse Everybody Knows…
by Shiela Samples
We are under the control of the criminally insane. Cheney has turned the greatest democratic republic ever conceived into a world corporation and anointed himself its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He has supplanted two centuries of protections afforded by the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights with executive orders and secret laws. In their lust for power and riches, Cheney and Bush have managed in just seven grueling, sadistic, morally corrupt years to destroy entire nations, including their own. And they accomplished this in the only way possible. Because we permitted it. Because we lost our moral compass.

expand/collapse Lies of Aggression
by Paul Craig Roberts
On May 15, the White House Moron, in a war-planning visit to Israel, justified the naked aggression he and Olmert are planning against Iran as the only alternative to "the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

But the White House Moron has the roles reversed. It is not Iran that is threatening war. It is Bush. It is not Bush who is appeasing. It is Iran.

Iran has not responded in kind to any of Bush's warlike moves and provocations. Iran has not sunk a single one of our sitting duck ships and has not given the Iraqi insurgents any weapons that would easily turn the tide of war against the US.

It is Bush, not Iran, who sounds like Adolf Hitler blustering and threatening. It is Bush's American Brownshirts, the neocons, who express the view: "what's the good of nuclear weapons if you can't use them."

expand/collapse Satire: Court Approves Evil Gay Agenda
Satan's plan to make uptight straight people "really uncomfortable" working out "fabulously," say Bay Area gays
by Mark Morford
It appears we've had it wrong all along. It appears there is actually nothing the slightest bit wrong or unlawful or even dangerous about allowing people of the same gender to buy overpriced formalwear and drink way too much champagne and dance to crappy '80s power ballads in the Chardonnay Room of a low-rent winery up in Napa, and call it a wedding.

Who can argue with that? Hell, to this very day, cultural conservatives still have no idea exactly why they hate gay marriage. There is still zero articulation. There is a complete lack of fact or understanding and I have yet to meet a single person of any political stripe who can adequately explain exactly why gay marriage is so dangerous, or who's threatened, or how. Same as it ever was? Yes. Only now, their misunderstanding feels quite a bit less dangerous, and far more pathetic.

Editor's Notes & Rants:

Equality isn't just for heteros, anymore. CA supreme court overturns gay marriage ban.

The left-wing sites are aflame over comments by Bush in the Israeli Kenneset, comparing Democrats to Nazi appeasers. Honestly, I don't see the problem. They've been appeasing Nazi Bush for years! Obama's promise of amnesty ("reconciliation") rather than justice for all the administration's many crimes just proves Bush's point.

Terrorist assassination attempt of Iranian diplomats by Cheney's minions to try and trigger another war.

Abusing the troops. Conservatives in Congress block bill to continue funding the war, but only because it would have also provided some minor benefits to veterans, like a paying for year's tuition at a state college for each year spent in battle. Leading Dems are confident that they will not let this hinder their war crimes in Iraq. [DN]

Even a broken watch is right twice a day. The Dems have passed a farm bill, that would give billions to the rich who don't need subsidies. Bush has threatened to veto it because it does not place a reasonable limit on the amount of profit that can be subsidised. Bush is not wrong on this one; the Dems can no longer disinguish between helping the poor, and sponsoring the rich, having completely sold out to greedy lobbyists. Unfortunately, the corp. puppets in Congress passed it with a veto-proof margin. So, the rich win, and the taxpayers lose.
